Decision Criteria - The Willy Fund
Participating seniors will submit for review a personal work that embodies the spirit of Willy O'Brien.
Submissions will be confidential in nature and collected and shipped by the senior guidance counselor to committee members detailed below.
The committee members will review the submissions in April, vote on their favorites, and announce winners at the end of May. A winning entry will be the one perceived by the committee as the most "Willy-esque."
Items may be submitted in any form, but must be personally created by the student in a format that can be duplicated and distributed nationally to dispersed committee members.
Examples include, but are not limited to:
- work of fiction or non-fiction
- comic or narrative drawing
- essay on how the student would spend the grant (e.g. traveling, learning a skill or sport)
- song

- spoken story (fictional or non-fictional)
- photograph or photographic montage
- video showing participation in an alternative sport (skateboarding, snowboarding, skydiving, etc.)
- screenplay
- recording of a theatric or musical performance
- painting or sculpture (though these will need to be photographed for submission)
Items to be avoided:
- anything that will spoil in transit
- anything illegal
- anything that is patented, trademarked, or plagiarised
- fragile items
- live items
- anything costly
- anything that must be returned
